No Novocaine!

Alli girl went to the dentist today. She is really afraid of getting the shots, so she asked if they could do it without the novocaine..... They did!  She was a trooper.  The entire time I was watching and MY teeth were hurting.... She said it didn't hurt, and then just a little on one of them....
If that had been me, I'd say, knock me out until tomorrow. LOL

She is my brave and now, cavity free girl!

I Have Never Been So Happy!

Why???  Anna has Poison Ivy~!  I thought it could be scabies and I was so freaked out thinking of all the sheet burning I was going to have to do! LOL  Why did I think this?  Well, my daughter in law had told me that her sister and kids had it, and I thought we got it too. It turns out that her sister and kids did NOT have it either...... so glad for them....but not before they burned all THEIR sheets. Poor Sister. :(

Instead, Anna has your basic Poison Ivy.   She is so funny.... She really likes Dr. Chartrand.  He asked her how things were going with her new sister and new bedroom arrangement..... She waited a second and said, "Do you want me to be completely honest?"   I jumped in and said, of course!   She said, "Things are splendid."  ROFL.....

So, we are using a cream to get rid of the rash and all will be back to normal; whatever that is! :)
Anna and I also enjoyed a little time together between the ride to the Dr. and Back. :)  We stopped at Whole Foods on the way home and picked up some apples and bananas... and then we went to Subway for a treat.  We are in the TEST region for Gluten Free Sandwiches from Subway! YUM!

She couldn't figure out why everybody was laughing..... I had to tell her the truth. It wasn't a giant baby bonnet. It was the toilet seat cover! LOL

I went to the dentist today..... and that is all I have to say about that! UGH

Or maybe I should say that I don't understand how 1 tooth can be the cost of a Buick!
Or More than the cost of a transmission!

Peace In A Storm

It was a scary ride last night. We typically ride out storms pretty well around here, but last night was particularly hairy!!!!  Tornado warnings all around us. We are between 2  lakes, and right at the edge of 3 different counties.  So we have to watch carefully. Our sirens went off and we felt we were safer in our office bathroom than in the house.   So we went out to the steel building office, and then made a palce in the inner office bathroom that has no windows  and stayed for a little over 3 hours. Glad we didn't have to sleep in there!

 Mike was keeping up with the weather. We never had our electricity go out completely.

 Tim was at the Hospital visiting Ilse, and he and the baby had to be moved to a safe place during the storms because of tornado warnings. 
We are so thankful that everybody in our family was spared. Unfortunately, we hurt for those who were not.

Kirill is Coming Home!

The badge on my side bar for little Kirill has been there to remind me to pray for him and for his adoptive family. They were refused when they went to adopt him a few months ago.  The case went to the Supreme Court of Russia on appeal and they WON! :)

Snake Time Again!

The girls came running into the house saying "Snake! Snake!"    Sure enough, there was another Rat Snake in the chicken coop.  I love it when we have a chance to learn something new about wild life.
Our friend Steve Wright was visiting. He is helping Mike get the Boat ready for Summer.  He is also a Boy Scout Leader, so today, the Boy Scout Leader shared  his snake  knowledge with a bunch of little girls. :)

 So why are all the chickens so upset?

 The monster in the trash can, that's why!

My Special Time With Anna

I took Anna with me to the bank today, and then we went to Subway to get a bite of lunch..... Subway now has GLUTEN FREE sandwiches.... Yes!
We enjoyed our time together talking about all sorts of things.... Her favorite topic?  Country Music.
This little one is All TEXAN, ALL COWGIRL and would love nothing more than to move onto loads of acreage with cows, horses and more. :)
She is doing so well.  She loves the dog Guess, and spends a LOT of time with him.
We talked a little about her new big sister role to her newest little sister.   She was sharing all sorts of information with me about how Guess the dog must have not had owners that cared about him, and that is why he has so many bad habits... because they didn't teach him anything... But with her patience and kindness, she is teaching him and he is responding very well!   I asked her, do you see a connection there with your newest sister?  She thought about it for a minute and said, "Mom, Alli is a person not a dog!" LOL
never mind. :)

She has also learned to mend fences by herself and when daddy tried to help she said, "It's ok dad, I 've got it!"  He was so proud! :)

Her favorite cowboy hat is missing. I hope it isn't the decrepid one I threw away last week... yikes.... so she found Dad's old Vacation hat.  He forgot he had it... I think it is hers now. :)
I just love having our sweet talks. One thing about Anna.... she LOVES music, but not music that doesn't have good lyrics. She is very good about asking to print out lyrics to decide if it is a song worthy of listening too.  I am really proud of her.
